People contact Safe Connect for themselves or someone else they care about. Some have questions about their relationships and just want to talk. We take your lead, offering information, options, and possible outcomes.
While many of us have been in situations similar to yours, you are the expert about you.
We will always ask if you are in a safe place to talk or message.
If you are concerned that someone may be monitoring your internet or phone
usage, please let us know right away. We can help.
We will ask you questions. We do this so we can better understand you and what you’re going through. Share only what you’re comfortable sharing.
We like to follow-up with you within 48 hours — but will do this only with your permission, and in the way you tell us feels safest.
About Safe Connect
Safe Connect is a project of the Connecticut Coalition Against Domestic Violence (CCADV) that was developed as a way to make it easier for victims of domestic violence to access information, resources and assistance. It is our goal to remove barriers.
Before the creation of Safe Connect, Connecticut had 18 domestic violence hotlines that served specific areas of the state. Now, individuals and families can contact Safe Connect from anywhere and immediately receive a thorough assessment of needs, emotional support, safety planning and options. We offer direct connections to CCADV’s member organizations (Connecticut’s 18 local domestic violence service providers) where you can receive ongoing, in-person support, as well as other community-based resources.
We understand that you may be more comfortable texting than calling and you can do that more privately from work or home, so we have expanded our modes of communication.
